ASK MANY pupils what they would do if they were allowed to be school head teacher for the day, and replies might include the banning all work and the mandatory extension of lunch breaks. Leuchars Primary pupils Katie Phillips (P2) and Aaron Williamson (P7) did not go to such extremes yesterday, but they did get the chance to find out what it is like to run their school. The school council recently offered a competition to be head teacher and depute head teacher for a day. Candidates were voted for by children and teachers. Katie and Aaron spent yesterday working as members of the school management team. This included a filming project around the school. They also had specific responsibilities at lunchtime and playtime. One special aspect of the day was to reward good work by giving awards to children and staff. |
