Back to offer star treatment to Scots

Jillian treats top runner Gemma Nichol (centre) watched by Business Gateway adviser Hazel Proctor.

A DUNFERMLINE woman who has worked as a make-up artist to the rich and famous in Italy is all set to launch her own business back home in Scotland.

Jillian Sharp, whose clients have included pop stars Enrique Iglesias, Sir Elton John and Eric Clapton, has returned home after 16 years abroad.

The 37-year-old plans to introduce micro-pigmentation to up-market beauty salons and spas in Fife and east central Scotland.

It involves depositing hypo-allergenic mineral pigments in the skin to provide permanent cosmetic enhancement to eyebrows, eyes and lips.

While it is relatively new to Scotland, micro-pigmentation is already very popular in Italy.

Jillian originally went to Genoa to teach English.

Learning Italian as she went, she completed courses which led to her landing a job with an agency as a make-up artist.

She found herself working for nearly all the main TV channels in Italy and doing make-up for Randy Crawford, Billy Joel, Sheryl Crow and many others.

After returning to Scotland, Jillian completed the intense UK practitioners’ conversion course so she would be fully qualified.

She said, “I was determined to do this for myself and because I believe the treatment can make a tremendous difference to people’s lives.

“I believe everyone has a natural beauty and I want to help them enhance that beauty permanently.

“It is low maintenance for my clients, as once the procedure is done it is a hassle-free and permanent enhancement.”

She was given support and advice to set up Pure Definition by the team at Business Gateway Fife.

Jillian’s treatments are available at salons in Dunfermline, Kinross, Kirkcaldy and Dundee.
