Wilkie sweating on result of knee scan

Lee Wilkie.

CROCKED DUNDEE defender Lee Wilkie will discover today just how severe the knee injury he sustained against Dunfermline on Saturday is, writes Graeme Dey.

Wilkie is due to have a scan on the joint this afternoon which should reveal whether fears he has ruptured his cruciate ligament for the second time in 14 months are groundless or justified.

“Lee’s knee is in a brace but isn’t looking too bad swelling wise,’’ revealed coach Gordon Wallace.

“However, we wouldn’t want to prejudge the issue. We’ll just wait on the results of the scan.

“Everyone is disappointed for him because he worked so hard for a year to get back and with every game he has played he has looked better and better.

“Everything seemed to be going in the right direction until Saturday but hopefully this injury will turn out not to be as serious as the first one was.’’
