New Romantic thrill for old romantics

Eighties pop frontmen Tony Hadley and Martin Fry brought the house down with a night of nostalgia that had fans dancing in the aisles at the Caird Hall in Dundee last night.

The former Spandau Ballet lead singer teamed up with Martin and ABC to roll back the years in a head-to-head vocal combat.

As one of the leading New Romantic bands, Spandau Ballet racked up a number of British hits during the early 1980s, becoming one of the most successful groups to emerge on the New Wave scene.

As the singer with ABC, Fry was responsible for some of the biggest hits of a boom era for British pop at the start of the 1980s, with songs like Poison Arrow and The Look Of Love.

They performed together a collection of hits and cover versions such as True, Gold, Signed, Sealed, Delivered and Let’s Stick Together.
