A BODY was found in Glenshee yesterday after an early morning search of hills by two police search and rescue teams. The operation involved Tayside and Grampian police officers and was sparked off by a 55-year-old Callander man being reported missing. The man failed to return from a hill walk on Sunday night and his car was found in the Darrich area, near to the Iron Bridge. The body, which was found at around 10 am just over a mile from the car, has yet to be identified. It was uplifted from the hill by an RAF helicopter. There were no suspicious circumstances and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. The leader of the search and rescue operation, Constable Jim Tait, said, “The Braemar team got the initial report at day-break and by 7 am there was a Tayside police and civilian team. “The body was discovered by a police officer on a quad bike around a mile and a half from the A93,” he added. |
