PERTHSHIRE PUNTERS have been flocking to witness the area’s first crossing for pampered pooches. Concerns over the safety of man’s four-legged friends have led to paw prints being added at the busy Heughfield Road crossing in Bridge of Earn—much to the amusement of at least one local who contacted The Courier yesterday. “The council had put in footprints to show where people should cross the road but that was clearly was not enough for one wag,” he said. “One day there were just human footprints and the next day paws had been painted on the pavement. The pet-friendly crossing is certainly helpful for those with dogs,” the local added. Well-behaved dogs in the area are now campaigning for a full pedestrian crossing to be introduced—complete with specially lowered button and, of course, a green dog. |
