FORMER MEMBERS of RAF Leuchars Mountain Rescue Team are being urged to get in touch to help celebrate a very special anniversary.

Ex-members and friends of the team are being invited to the 50th anniversary celebration on October 1 at the Drummond Arms Hotel in Crieff.

As well as a full day of activities and displays for everyone to enjoy, there will also be a dinner and celebrations in the evening.

Corporal Simon Brill, training co-ordinator with the mountain rescue team, said, “Although many ex-members have been in touch we are hoping those who we haven’t managed to contact will be able to come along and enjoy the event.”

Leuchars is one of four RAF teams operating throughout the UK and their primary role is to assist in military and civilian aviation accidents.

They have been involved in a number of operations in locations as far afield as Borneo and Albania.
