Fleet of time machines rolls into Dundee

Marylin Hacking (1913 Arrol Johnston), Jean Young (1903 Argyll) and Frank Thomson (1913 Arrol Johnston).

THE WHEELS of time were rolled back in Dundee yesterday as a fleet of “veteran” cars descended on the city.

The vehicles, all dating from before 1919, were visiting Discovery Point as part of a rally organised by the Veteran Car Club of Great Britain. The oldest car taking part in the rally is an 1899 British Daimler and the event has attracted veteran car owners from as far away as France and the US.

The Veteran Car Club was founded in 1930 and is based in Hertfordshire but has regional sections throughout the UK.

The 48 cars on display in Dundee are taking part in the Kinross Karousel motoring event.
