NEWBRIDGE MAN Douglas Cowe has just taken delivery of a Fiat Punto after the £1 raffle ticket he bought at this year’s RAF Leuchars Airshow won the star prize. Mr Cowe doesn’t drive, so the lucky beneficiary will be his wife, Carol. All the proceeds are distributed by the Leuchars Station Charity Action Group which aims to collect £21,000. The beneficiaries will be the Ronald McDonald House attached to the Children’s Hospital, Glasgow, the Childrens’ Hospice Association of Scotland, RAF Benevolent Fund and RAF Association.
