A GROUP of seven staff from Perthshire’s Highland Spring are in the final stages of their training as they prepare to cross the Atlantic to run in the New York Marathon

The staff will join 75 others, including Lorraine Kelly, running as part of Team Highland Spring in aid of Breast Cancer Care.

The November 6 marathon is the flagship fund-raising event for the Blackford mineral water company’s campaign which will see them donate a minimum of £150,000 to the charity.

In addition each runner has pledged to raise £2000.

Sally Stanley, marketing director for Highland Spring, who is running the 26-mile race, said, “Most of us won’t have run a marathon before so it will be a brilliant achievement if we all make it, not just to cross the finishing line but to raise valuable funds for Breast Cancer Care.”
