Delight at skating success

A 10-YEAR-OLD Dundee girl has been crowned pre-novice Scottish Champion and she showed off her skating silverware at her Crombie home yesterday.

Natasha McKay (pictured) trains five mornings a week before school with coaches Simon and Debbie Briggs at Dundee Ice Arena—and her hard work paid off when she won her first major national championships last week.

The Monikie Primary School pupil now has her sights set on qualifying for the novice British Championships held in Sheffield in February next year.

Natasha has already had success in numerous competitions this year, including Dundee Open, where she was placed second.

She also came fourth at the British pre-novice championships held earlier this year.
