Drinks ahoy at auction

Cheers!—Paul Cummings of Loves with the unusual cocktail cabinet.

A HIGHLY unusual item was sold at auction in Perth yesterday—a seven-foot high novelty cocktail cabinet in the shape of a three-masted sailing vessel.

While not the most practical of additions for the average home, the cabinet nevertheless sold for £600 at Loves Auction Rooms.

Among the other high spots of the sale were a set of four silver arts and crafts design candlesticks, which made £2800, and an extensive American set of cutlery sold for £1250. A Regency mahogany metamorphic library steps chair fetched £5300—double the pre-sale estimate.
