DUNDEE UNIVERSITY held its traditional candlelight service of lessons and carols in the city’s St Paul’s Cathedral last night. The service, which featured the university choir, chamber choir and readings by staff and students, was led by university chaplain the Rev Dr Fiona Douglas, assisted by the institution’s honorary chaplains representing different denominations. Musical director for the event was the university’s music co-ordinator Graeme Stevenson, who conducted the choirs. “This is a very special occasion for the university and a very popular one with staff and students and indeed the wider community,” said Dr Douglas. Money raised in the collection is being donated to Dundee Cyrenians Reception and Resettlement Centre. |
