COLONEL Peter Roland Sharland, The Black Watch, received an appointment to the military division of the OBE.

Colonel Sharland joined the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC) in May and was on loan to the government of Ghana through that role.

Prior to that he served as the British defence attache in Nepal.

Elsewhere, Perth’s Colin McShannon received the MBE. Until his recent retiral, he was deputy governor of Castle Huntly prison at Longforgan.
