LORD FRASER of Carmyllie is recovering in hospital after suffering a minor heart attack. Lord Fraser, who is 60, was admitted to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee on New Year’s Day and, although his condition is understood to be giving no cause for concern, he has been detained in the coronary care unit for tests to be carried out. Speaking from their home at Carmyllie yesterday his wife, Lady Fraser, said that he was expected to remain in hospital for a few more days but was in good spirits. Lord Fraser, as Peter Fraser MP, represented the Angus constituency from 1979 until 1987 and also served terms as Scotland’s Solicitor General and Lord Advocate. He headed the inquiry into the cost over-run of the new Scottish Parliament building at Holyrood. |
