By Eric Nicolson BY COMPLETING the New York marathon, GMTV presenter Lorraine Kelly has helped to raise one of the biggest ever amounts for charity from a running event. Lorraine was reunited with her fellow Team Highland Spring runners yesterday at the company’s Blackford headquarters when they presented a cheque for £200,000 to Breast Cancer Care. The money was raised as part of Highland Spring’s Pure and Natural fund-raising campaign, which saw 84 runners take part in the marathon in November. The three-year fund-raising partnership will also see the company donate an additional £150,000 to the charity. Among others, Lorraine was joined by Rangers chief executive Martin Bain and ITN Scotland correspondent Martin Geissler. Highland Spring staff also took part, including marketing director Sally Stanley and finance director, Les Montgomery. Lorraine said yesterday, “Running as part of Team Highland Spring was one of the best experiences of my life and raising so much for such a worthy cause made it even more worthwhile.” |
