THE COUNT for the Dunfermline and West Fife by-election is to take place at a new venue, Fife Council confirmed yesterday.

It has traditionally been held at the Glen Pavilion in Pittencrieff Park.

However, deputy returning officer Iain Grant said it is being switched to Queen Anne High School in Dunfermline.

The school will be closed that day for a scheduled holiday.

Mr Grant said, “Queen Anne High School is an excellent, more spacious facility and well suited to the counting of votes.

“We do not anticipate any difference in the time the result will be declared, or the operation of the poll.”
