A DUNDEE dance teacher is set to shake things up in the home of belly dancing. Lorna Gow (32) will take up a dancing residency at a Cairo hotel in March after outshining and out-shimmying the assembled local talent at recent auditions in the Egyptian capital. She has been belly dancing for the past 11 years after becoming hooked when she went along to a local class for a bit of fun. Lorna, who lives in Edinburgh but teaches throughout Scotland, has built up a dedicated following at her classes in Dundee over the past eight years. She said yesterday she was “amazed and delighted” at being chosen for the post and was looking forward to strutting her stuff come March. Lorna’s belly dancing legacy will continue in Dundee as she has helped hone a number of new instructors who will take over her classes. |
