Rail death ‘not suspicious’

BRITISH TRANSPORT Police have confirmed there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a woman at Errol on Tuesday.

The 52-year-old from Perth, about whom no other details have been released, was struck by a train on the Perth to Dundee line at the level crossing at Grange, Errol, in the afternoon. A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Earlier in the day, a full-scale search and rescue operation had been mounted involving the police, the Broughty Ferry lifeboats, coastguard and a helicopter from RAF Lossiemouth after reports that a woman had been seen falling into the Tay at Dundee.
