Love with a tartan touch

Lynn and Iain.

A BROUGHTY Ferry couple are to wed in a fairytale setting with tartan touches.

Lynn Malone (28), from Dundee, and former Cupar man Iain Colwell (38) will marry in Central Park in New York in two weeks, coinciding with the Tartan Week celebrations.

The couple decided on the romantic setting after they both enjoyed separate trips to the city.

They discovered the events would coincide after planning the wedding.

Lynn, a teacher at St Fergus Primary School in Dundee, said, “All the men will be wearing kilts and we will be having a piper in the park too.

“It was a total coincidence that the wedding was arranged for the same time as Tartan Week, but it fits in pretty well!”

The couple, plus 41 guests, fly out on April 1 and the wedding takes place on April 5.

Lynn and Iain, a manager with the Royal Bank of Scotland, will enjoy a week’s honeymoon at the luxurious Waldorf Hotel.

Tartan Week is a celebration of all things Scottish, and includes a parade of pipes and drums.
