| Shop window proves owner is no dummy | |||

A DUNDEE store did its best to frighten the life out of city centre shoppers on Saturday. People passing Ozzy’s, the urban street wear retailer in Seagate, were rubbing their eyes in wonder as mannequins in the shop window suddenly came alive. It was not the work of the supernatural, but owner Shiraz Ossman’s new window dressing technique. The fashion dummies were in fact real people— students and friends of staff members—wearing items from the shop’s stock. Crowds gathered to watch the surreal scene as models lounged around and read newspapers. Shiraz explained, “I was thinking one day that you see people wearing stuff all the time, so why don’t we display clothes in that way so that if you’re looking at something to buy you can see how it really wears.” |
