Asda denies chicken claims

SUPERMARKET GIANT Asda has categorically denied claims it has cancelled a contract with a Coupar Angus chicken factory in the wake of bird flu arriving on Britain’s shores.

There had been reports the chain, which has a large store in nearby Perth, had revoked orders for birds from the chicken processing plant amid fears poultry could become affected.

However, a spokesman at Asda’s press office said the rumours were “completely untrue” and that no contracts had been terminated.
