A MAN was killed last night in a road accident in highland Perthshire.

The accident happened shortly before 10 pm on the A9 two miles north of the House of Bruar. No other vehicle was involved.

Tayside Fire and Rescue used thermal imaging equipment to ensure no one else from the vehicle was injured and in the vicinity of the accident.

The car came to rest on a barrier and firefighters from Pitlochry and Dunkeld helped recover the victim.

The name of the dead man will not be released until relatives have been informed.
