Michelin staff raise £8000 for charities

THE OUTSTANDING generosity of workers at Michelin’s Baldovie plant was amply demonstrated at a double cheque presentation yesterday.

Each year, employees nominate charities to benefit from their fund-raising activities.

For 2005, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Tayside Mountain Rescue were chosen and yesterday each charity was presented with a cheque for £4000 by general manager Trevor Haines.

The impressive total was raised throughout last year in a variety of ways. Two members of staff walked across the country from coast to coast, and another completed the West Highland Way.

In addition, a substantial sum was raised at the annual fun day, held at the Michelin Athletic Club on August 28 during Michelin’s UK centenary.
