Police seize £350,000 in drugs and cash

DRUGS AND cash totalling more than £350,000 have been seized by police in Tayside’s war against drugs.

The successes included the capture of a kilo of heroin—worth more than £150,000—at Dundee railway station and the seizure of 50,000 diazepam tablets in Arbroath which could have netted criminals tens of thousands of pounds.

Tayside Chief Constable John Vine is due to deliver news of the cash and drug recoveries to the area’s police joint board in Forfar next Monday as part of an operational policing update covering the past few months since the body’s last meeting.

“There have been some notable successes in recent months, with 44 seizures of controlled drugs being made by the drugs and surveillance branch in conjunction with local beat officers,” Mr Vine states in his report.
