By Eric Nicolson PUPILS AT a Perthshire school have been charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and sending a video of the alleged attack by mobile phone to classmates. Two 16-year-old schoolboys have been reported to the procurator fiscal in Perth, police confirmed last night. Both teenagers are accused of sexually assaulting the girl and recording the incident with a phone video camera, while one has been charged with possessing and distributing indecent images. Perth and Kinross Council education chiefs have been liaising with police regarding the incident and have subsequently been advising pupils what they should do if they receive inappropriate messages on their mobile phones. A police spokesperson said, “Tayside Police can confirm that two 16-year- old males have been reported to the procurator fiscal in Perth. “The report is in respect of charges relating to the possession and distribution of indecent images, and a sexual assault alleged to have taken place at an address in Perth on Saturday, May 6, 2006.” The council said, “Following a recent incident that occurred outwith school hours, Perth and Kinross Council has been liaising closely with Tayside Police and with families involved to address the situation and issues resulting from it.” |
