United trials for Africans

DUNDEE UNITED will welcome two trialists to Tannadice today.

They are Congo internationalist Franck Matingou (26), who was formerly with Bastia, and Moroccan Abderrahmane Massassi.

Dundee’s Lee Wilkie is also set to take up the offer of training facilities at Tannadice this week after agreeing his departure from Dens.

United are set to renew signing talks with Inverness Caledonian Thistle for right back David Proctor.

ICT turned down an offer of £30,000 from the Tangerines on Friday. The Highlanders want £40,000.

Tannadice striker David Fernandez, meanwhile, could be headed for Kilmarnock.

United are on the verge of agreeing a severance deal with Fernandez, and Killie are standing by to snap him up.

It’s understood, however, that if the Spaniard does move to Rugby Park he will not face his former club this coming Saturday.

United’s forthcoming home clash with Dunfermline will go ahead as scheduled on Saturday, August 19.

Dundee have agreed to move their meeting with Clyde to avoid a fixture clash.
