PERTH CONCERT Hall is truly blooming today as the 200th anniversary summer show of the Royal Horticultural Society of Perthshire continues.

Judges yesterday cast their eyes over the exhibits submitted for the society’s biggest and best event yet.

Extra effort has been made by entrants this year due to the special nature of the celebrations as the society proudly trumpets its honour of being the oldest in Scotland.

As well as the displays of flowers, pot plants, fruit and vegetables, there was floral art, photography and children’s competitions courtesy of the young Flower Power group attached the the RHS.

Perth Philatelic Society have provided a display of floral stamps.

The colour and fun will spill out into the streets today as Perth Flower Festival begins with a gardener’s market in King Edward Street.
