It was film festival season for some budding young film-makers yesterday as they departed Dundee to see their blockbuster on the big screen. Youngsters aged 11 and 12 from the Girls on Tour Youth Group boarded a bus at the Grey Lodge Settlement, South George Street, bound for the Co-operative Young Film Makers’ Festival at Bradford’s National Museum of Photography, Film and Television. Their film, GO B4 U GO, was one of 100 chosen from more than 220 productions from young film-makers, schools, youth groups, art groups, colleges and video workshops from across the UK and beyond. Alan Duncan, from the settlement, travelled with the group and said they were in high spirits, adding, “It’s a tremendous achievement to be short-listed and we’re all looking forward to this weekend’s festival.” |
