PLANS TO replace a derelict eyesore in the centre of Scone with a block of flats have failed to impress councillors. The proposal at 70 Perth Road has been rejected by the development control committee on the grounds that the scale of the flats was “over-intensive.” The site has an unoccupied house and shop fronting on to Perth Road with a large section of vacant land to the rear. The plan was for a single building of nine flats with 14 parking spaces. A report said that while the developer has made significant changes to an initial application, the size of the building was still a concern. This view was unanimously endorsed by the committee who rejected the application. |
