Scots culture examined

Leading Scottish writers, academics and personalities appeared at a Day of Scottish Culture in the A. K. Bell Library, Perth, on Saturday. The first invited speaker was Professor Christopher Whatley of Dundee University, pictured delivering his talk on The Scots And The Union. Among others taking part were Dr Kirsteen McCue of Glasgow University and Alistair Moffat from Selkirk, whose BBC TV programme Before Scotland received rave reviews. The day ended in traditional fashion with a ceilidh at the Dewar’s Centre.
