FIFE YOUNGSTER Paige Allan was among the UK’s bravest children who met the Duchess of Cornwall and were presented with awards at Westminster Abbey yesterday.
Each winner of the Women’s Own Children of Courage Awards have performed extraordinary feats or shown courage in the face of adversity.
Paige, of Kirkcaldy, had her hands and feet amputated after she contracted meningitis when she was 13 months old. The five-year-old’s mother Nicola said her daughter was brave and has been through a lot. “You only need to look at Paige to see how far she’s come along.”
After a long battle to learn how to walk, Paige last year led 200 children on a charity walk to raise funds for the Sick Chidren’s Hospital in Edinburgh.
