A YOUNG Dundee woman remained in a critical condition in hospital last night after under-going emergency surgery following a road accident in the Beechwood housing estate on Saturday.
Nicola Fleming (21) was understood to be in a “critical but stable” condition in the high dependency unit at Ninewells Hospital.
William Lafferty (20), also of Dundee, was injured in the same incident.
He is scheduled to have further surgery to leg injuries.
Police arrested a 34-year-old man following the incident in Cedarwood Drive, Beechwood.
A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
The man is due to appear in court today in connection with road traffic offences.
Ms Fleming and Mr Lafferty, neither of whom is understood to live in the immediate area, were believed to be de-icing her red Citroen C2 shortly after 9am.
A number of other vehicles in the area were also damaged.
A police spokesman said, “We are treating this as a very serious matter and several witnesses have come forward.
“However, if anyone who witnessed the incident has not spoken to police we would encourage them to come forward and pass on any information they might have.”
