A POLISH home from home has been opened in Perth.
Catering for the large Polish community in the Fair City and surrounding area, Polish Healthy Foods is the second Tayside venture for Tomasz and Justyna Zalewscy, who also run the Zall delicatessen in Dundee.
Speaking as he enjoyed a busy first day on Saturday, Tomasz revealed he has fresh produce made by a Polish baker in Edinburgh and delivered daily, while he has a weekly stock of goods shipped in from his homeland.
As well as providing traditional fare for his customers, they can also catch up on events back home thanks to a stock of newspapers and magazines.
The Dundee shop has become a hub for Polish incomers, with the couple helping them find jobs and homes and aiding them with tasks like getting insurance. Tomasz hopes the Perth store can fill the same role.
Alyth-based Tomasz and Justyna (both 28) arrived in Scotland three years ago and worked until July at the chicken processing factory in Coupar Angus before their pining for traditional food led them down their latest career path.
