Teacher hurt in pupil ‘incident’

A TEACHER at a school in Perth had to have hospital treatment for a serious shoulder injury after an incident involving a pupil, The Courier understands.

Perth and Kinross Council has confirmed “an incident” occurred at St Columba’s High School.

A spokesman said, “Tayside Police have been advised and are currently carrying out an investigation into the incident.

“It would therefore be inappropriate for the council to comment further at this time.”

A police spokesman said, “Tayside Police can confirm they are carrying out investigations into an incident that took place at St Columba’s High School, Perth, on Tuesday in which a 55-year-old man sustained a shoulder injury.”

It is understood criminal charges may result, and a report will be going to the procurator fiscal.

The Courier understands the man was a teacher.
