SANCTUARY SCOTLAND should know by the start of next week if the house struck by a bus in the Ardler area of Dundee on Tuesday has been damaged beyond repair.
However, it is understood, the initial signs are that the Rosemount Road home of tenant Jessie Sword can be saved.
Ms Sword’s belongings are being moved from the property to allow an in-depth inspection by Dundee City Council’s structural engineers and a verdict is expected to be in hands of the building’s owner, Sanctuary Scotland, within days.
The housing association is optimistic the report will confirm that re-instatement of the front will render the house habitable again.
In the meantime, Ms Sword has been rehoused in the area.
The 61-year-old had a lucky escape when a No. 92 Travel Dundee bus carrying around 20 passengers ploughed into her home, after being in a collision with a 4x4 vehicle.
