THE DUNDEE woman who this week was banned from her home for two months was yesterday jailed for four months due to yet another incident at the flat in Balunie Terrace.
Natalie Ann Low (20) gave an address in Byron Street at Dundee Sheriff Court yesterday.
She previously admitted that, on December 26, at the Balunie Terrace flat and in the street, while acting with others, she breached the peace.
She formed part of a disorderly crowd, repeatedly shouted and swore, overturned furniture, and caused excessive noise to come from the flat to the alarm of residents.
She admitted committing the offence while on bail.
Depute fiscal David Cobb said police went to speak to Low about other matters and as they approached the flat they could hear screaming and shouting.
They recognised Low’s voice.
They asked to be allowed in and tried to calm her.
Mr Cobb said she shouted at the officers, “It’s my house. I’ve just lost my bairn, don’t expect me to behave normal.”
When police did gain access they found Low drunk and upset and much of the house in disarray.
Solicitor Mike Short said Low was a young woman with a lot of problems.
Others were responsible for the initial disturbance but she and friends controlled the situation.
When Mr Short said she was making progress, Sheriff Richard Davidson said he did not see any.
He noted she was made the subject of an anti-social behaviour order on January 30, presumably as a result of 30 to 40 complaints—the usual number before such action is taken.
She was put on probation on September 9, and the sheriff noted, “I observe she was evicted from a previous tenancy because of complaints from neighbours.”
Mr Short said a period on remand appeared to have stopped her drinking and she had not drunk alcohol in the three and a half weeks since her release.
He asked the sheriff to give Low a chance to work with various agencies, but the sheriff told him he was fighting a lost cause.
Sheriff Davidson told Low he was dealing with her eighth conviction for breach of the peace since 2003.
She had also broken equipment installed at her home to monitor her restriction of liberty order.
Low was banned from her house in Balunie Terrace on Monday after police were granted a closure order against her.
Their move resulted from a series of complaints about her anti-social behaviour.
