Cash boost for dog charity

A FIFE funeral home yesterday handed over a wide selection of handy items which will be put to good use by a Thornton-based dog charity.

Staff at the Co-op Funeralcare Service in Cos Lane, Glenrothes, have been busy collecting equipment which could be used by the Home A Dog Association (HADA), which has been rescuing stray and abandoned dogs for more than 15 years.

Dozens of dogs need looking after each year prior to being rehomed and staff hope that the blankets, pillow cases, dog food and dog baskets donated will stop the charity having to fork out much-needed funds on essentials.

Stewart Murdoch from Co-op Funeralcare, added that a number of kind-hearted members of the public had also donated over £100 to the cause.
