A WELL-KNOWN figure in the national dog breeding and showing world will set off for Crufts today as one of an elite group of people selected to join the judging team at the world famous event.
Morag Jarvis from Balmullo will be casting her expert eye over 111 of the best English Setters in the country during a nerve wracking day of judging.
Morag is no stranger to Crufts, and after she started breeding from her first English Setter, Whisper, in the mid 1970s, she had two show champions in one litter, and one of these dogs then also produced a show champion.
Morag said yesterday that being chosen as a Crufts judge is a massive honour, and something aspired to by all people involved in judging.
She will be in the ring for most of the day tomorrow as she selects the best English Setter dog, which will then compete with the best English Setter bitch for the chance to be picked as best gundog.
She will be back in Scotland for the weekend to watch the final stages of the championship unfold on television.
