CARNAGE WAS the order of the day at Adam Smith College, Kirkcaldy, yesterday with the annual Techno Games.
Teams from 140 primary and secondary schools were involved in designing and building their own battle-bots which were then launched into a series of gladiatorial contests inspired by the BBC’s Robot Wars.
The participating youngsters were able to meet a Dalek and see their own creations tackle football, an assault course and even robot sumo.
The Techno Games are held in conjunction with Adam Smith College’s Institute of Applied Technology and the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
The games, supported by Glenrothes electronics firm Raytheon Systems, have been successful at encouraging students to enjoy applied technology.
Bill Hutchison, lecturer for the Institute of Applied Technology at Adam Smith College, said, “We have seen the Techno Games getting more and more popular every year we host it, so we are delighted to be hosting it again.
