Roundabout work will cause delays

TRAFFIC AT the busy A9 Inveralmond roundabout on the outskirts of Perth will be disrupted this weekend as work begins on a £2.2 million upgrade project.

BEAR Scotland has advised that from 7.30pm tomorrow until 6.30am on Monday the southbound A9 exit from Inveralmond roundabout will be closed for the reconstruction of the carriageway.

During this period southbound traffic will be accommodated using a contraflow on the A9 northbound carriageway.

The carriageway on the roundabout and all approaches will be reduced to one lane.

At 6.30am on Monday the road will be re-opened to permit two lanes of traffic on each approach and on the roundabout.

Traffic should continue to use the temporary running surfaces and pay attention to the temporary road signs.

The works are part of an investment into the trunk road network at Inveralmond and Broxden roundabouts.

When this first phase is completed early next month the programme will then move to the M90 Broxden roundabout, until early May.

The works programme has been developed in partnership with Perth and Kinross Council, Transport Scotland, Tayside Police and bus operators.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journey.
