FORENSIC examinations continued yesterday into the discovery of a human leg on the beach at Broughty Ferry.
The area off Beach Crescent remained cordoned off as officers and identification branch experts continued their work.
The leg, believed to be from an adult male, was discovered by a member of the public on the foreshore on Wednesday morning.
It appears it had been in the water for some time and was washed on to the beach with the incoming tide.
It is understood detectives are reviewing past missing persons cases as part of their inquiries.
A police spokeswoman said, “Inquiries are on-going.
“A detailed forensic examination of the leg is to continue.”
