A motorcyclist was badly hurt when he was involved in an accident with a car in the East Neuk yesterday afternoon.
The weekend also saw two fatal accidents in Scotland, with one death in an early-morning collision on the outskirts of Dundee on Saturday and two in a crash on the A9.
The motorcyclist in Fife was travelling west on the B942 Colinsburgh to Pittenweem road when there was a collision with an eastbound Volvo near the junction with the B9171 Arncroach road at about 2.20pm.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline, where last night he was in a serious condition.
The road was closed for several hours while investigations were carried out.
Last night Fife police appealed for anyone who saw the accident or who may have seen a silver Volvo and a yellow and black motorcycle to contact them on 01592 251111.
Saturday morning’s crash just north of Kellas, on the outskirts of Dundee, claimed the life of 24-year-old father-to-be Kevin George Trotter, of Gagiebank, Wellbank, write Stefan Morkis and Maura Bowman.
Mr Trotter was just north of Kellas when he was in collision with a lorry on the B978 at 6.15am. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The lorry driver suffered minor injuries.
Police sealed off the B978 from south of Kellas to Wellbank while accident investigators attended and diversions were put in place. The road was reopened shortly before 1pm.
Mr Trotter, who was in the RAF, moved to the house in Gagiebank just weeks ago with his pregnant wife. She was being comforted by family yesterday and was too upset to talk.
Later on Saturday, a man and a woman died after an accident at about 6pm on the A9 road just north of its junction with the B889 Dalwhinnie road.
Police say two vehicles collided. The A9 was closed for investigations.
