Ferry fans speak out in support

FANS OF pop star Bryan Ferry are campaigning to bring him to Perth.

The singer, who is enjoying a renaissance period by touring the UK and advertising for a major high street retailer, has yet to perform in Perth, despite attempts to attract him.

It emerged yesterday Perth Festival of the Arts tried to bring Ferry to Perth several years ago but due to a mix-up with his booking agent, nothing materialised.

The agent thought the venue would be in Perth, Australia, so no concert was arranged.

But yesterday fans of the singer, who still fronts Roxy Music, contacted The Courier to express wishes for him to come to Perth.

A 49-year-old woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “I’ve been a Bryan Ferry fan for 30 years and would love him to come to Perth.

“There was confusion over where this town was but I would even help pay his air fare!”

Another 45-year-old woman added, “I’m sure Bryan Ferry would go down a storm here.”
