PERTH PLAYED host to the Chernobyl Children Lifeline Conference on Saturday.
Over the past few years, hundreds of Belarussian children have enjoyed respite breaks in the county as the devastation from the 1986 Chernobyl disaster continues to resonate across the generations.
Local families have willingly taken the youngsters into their homes for weeks at a time to escape the problems of their homeland, where they still live in a radioactive polluted environment and eat contaminated food.
It has been shown just a short break in an unpolluted area like Perthshire can boost their immune systems, while they also have access to health and dental checks.
