A9 fatal accident victim is named

A WOMAN who was killed when she was in a collision with a car in a horrific accident on the A9 late on Sunday night has been named as Roseanne Lessells (57) of Garden Court, Townhill, Dunfermline.

A police spokesman confirmed, “Mrs Lessels was walking with her husband on the slip road of the A9 at the entrance to Dunkeld at around 10.15pm last night when she would appear to have stepped out onto the carriageway and she has collided with a southbound Renault Megane car.

“Officers attended and tragically she was pronounced dead at the scene. As with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal in Perth.”

The A9 was closed for several hours to allow a full accident investigation to be carried out. The driver of the car was spoken to at the time.

The spokesman added, “Any witnesses to the accident or anybody who saw people walking on the road near to the area are asked to call Tayside Police at Perth on 01738 621141 or speak to any police officer.”
