Man found dead in Perth hotel

POLICE IN PERTH yesterday launched an inquiry following the death of a 27-year-old man in a city centre hotel.

Details were scarce but a spokeswoman confirmed the man had died at the County Hotel in County Place in the early hours of the morning.

She refused to comment on whether or not there were suspicious circumstances and confirmed a report would be sent to the procurator fiscal in Perth in due course.

A brief statement was released by Tayside Police regarding the matter.

“Police in Perth are investigating the death of a 27-year-old male in the early hours of April 6 at the County Hotel in Perth,” it said.

“As is the case with all sudden deaths a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”

The statement added that inquiries into the death are continuing.

When contacted by The Courier a police spokeswoman declined to expand on the details provided.

A police car and van were stationed outside the popular hotel for much of the morning.
