Teenager held after man found dead in Fife

A Fife street was cordoned off yesterday after a man was found dead on Saturday evening.

A mobile incident room was set up in Herriot Crescent in Methil as detectives investigated the death, which they are treating as “suspicious.”

James Mitchell, who lives near Herriot Crescent, said, “It’s normally such a quiet street. Nothing much happens, so it’s worrying when you hear that a man has died and police are investigating it.

“Folk are saying it must have happened late on Saturday night or in the early hours of Sunday morning as nobody seems to know anything about it.”

Police last night confirmed a teenager was arrested following the incident.

A 17-year-old male is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court tomorrow.
