PARENTS AND P3 children from Letham Primary were at Perth Leisure Pool yesterday to celebrate their success as the first group in a pilot project.

The Letham Swim Project for P3 took place over the winter and provided weekly swimming lessons for parents and children.

The group took part in 11 weekly half-hour lessons and did home-based back-up work in between lessons.

The celebration included a tour of all the facilities at Perth Leisure Pool, a swim session and a free lunch. The participants were also presented with certificates marking their completion of the course.

The project was funded by Sportscotland. Lessons were organised by the active schools co-ordinator for Perth Academy cluster.
