THE NATIONAL Trust for Scotland has three new attractions to lure visitors to its properties in Culross—two exhibitions and a refurbished tearoom.
Bill Lessels, the trust’s property manager in Culross, said, “We’re delighted to be able to start the season with new attractions. The first exhibition called The Culross Story, by Ewa Kuniczak, will run throughout the summer season.
A portrait of the socio-economics of Culross, it spans the time from 1597 to today, emphasising people’s occupations and welfare.
The second exhibition, Take One Toad, is based on the diseases of the 16th and 17th centuries and details treatments and cures used at the time, including garden snails and leeches.
Mr Lessels said the third attraction was the refurbished Bessie Bar Tearoom.
“The walls have been lightened, new lighting and display units installed and the menu revamped, offering a wider choice with emphasis on local and Scottish dishes,” he said.
The trust’s main attractions in the village, the palace, the study and the townhouse, are gearing up for the new tourist season.
